Hello Mathematician is a distraction-free flashcards style math practice application.
I always found it frustrating to see the math practice websites that my children's teachers directed them to. They were consistently full of advertisements flashing on the screen, and were usually about 10% math and 90% video game. I know there is a time and place for just having fun and getting in some math practice at the same time, and this likely helps motivate students to do their homework. But I was always bothered by the incessant on-screen distraction, and further annoyed that this distraction was advertising.
I also believe there is a time when you just want your child to get that old-fashioned rapid fire arithmetic practice to see how well they know their basic math facts.
So when we all ended up home schooling during the early days of the pandemic, I could not find a distraction-free math practice website, so I immediately sat down to create it myself. My goal was a simple, distraction free, no nonsense flashcard-style application where students can get that that old-fashioned rapid fire arithmetic practice.
I was pleased with the result, and my daughters' teachers used the application in the live classroom setting when the students were back in class.
